Staying warm in cold environment

4F is constantly cold throughout the day. It may seem good as you won't have to die in the heat in other classrooms. But the downside to that is you can catch a cold easily in the room. And the windows and doors are closed, the virus is trapped in the room! The only way to make your sickness not so serious, is to stay warm. Here are some way you can keep yourself warm.

Tip number 1.

WEAR A JACKET!!! It is common sense to wear one. But sometimes it is still cold! Tip number 2 may help you

Tip number 2.

When even a jacket cannot keep you warm, you need to find an extra source of heat. Which tip number 2, bring a hot water bottle to school. Here's how you can keep you jacket warm in this way. These are the steps:

  1. Wrap your jacket around a plastic water bottle containing hot water.

  2. Put it in your bag.

  3. when you are feeling cold, take out the jacket and your jacket has been upgraded from a normal jacket to a warm and cozy jacket!

Problem solved! Or is it?

Tip number 3.

If you don't have time in the morning to boil the water, here is another way you can make your jacket warm and cozy.

  1. sit on it, starting from the start of the school day

  2. When you need it, wear it!

This is a simple 2 step instruction to make your jacket warm. This works because your body is a source of heat and when you sit on it (I won't explain this part as you all know it, if you don't, pay attention in class!) the jacket becomes warm!

Tip number 4.

Moving around helps you keep warm. But in lessons, you have to sit down. So, to stay warm, you can move you legs like kicking them around.(Just don't kick the chair in front of you or if you are at the first row, do not trip people with your leg, of course)

Tip number 5.

Friction generates heat! So when you are cold, you can simply rub your hands or your thighs. This is the same concept for making a fire without matchsticks and lighters, only with DRY pieces of wood and twigs.

Tip number 6.

You can touch places like your necks and your hands will feel very warm! But also, it is very important to keep it warm too.

Tip number 7.

When shopping for jackets, try to choose fibre based textiles that are used to make the jackets. They trap the most amount of body heat so you stay warm! Remember to look at the material!

Everyone has their own way of keeping themselves warm. But if you want to keep warm in a better way, please try out these ways to keep yourself warm!

(but for the second way, please cap the bottle tightly and DO NOT BOIL THE WATER YOURSELVES.)

Story corner

Kiyami (chapter 2)

Kiyami turned around, only to see two girls from the english division in her class. Kiyami never interacted with people before, so to make a good impression, she said "はい、もちろん( yes, of course)" Those girls from the English division only knew a bit of Japanese, but they were considered the better ones in the school so they could understand what Kiyami was saying. "Cool! can we hang out with you during lunch?" they asked. "By the way, She is Vanessa, and I am Judy. Can you meet us at table 16 today?"Kiyami could not understand and retorted with, "どういう意味ですか?私は英語があまりよく理解できません.(What do you mean? I cannot understand English so well." Judy took out the translator and translated both theirs and Kiyami's message. Kiyami nodded and they walked to class together.

After a while, it was time for break time. During break time, students could hang out in the classroom or walk the grounds. It's like 30 minutes of free time. During the break, girls crowded around the table and started asking questions about Kiyami's new phone. Questions in Japanese and English was asked to Kiyami. Poor Kiyami, she was bombarded with a truck load of questions over a gadget.

Suddenly, a voice came from behind, "Stop it. She is shy and not so comfortable with people and besides, break is almost over so you should go back to your seats."

It was Judy and Vanessa! A smile was plastered on Kiyami's face. For her whole life, she had to solve her own problems. Kiyami decided to meet them during lunch today.

Not so long after, it was lunch. Kiyami took out her sandwich and water from her bag and went to the table. Vanessa and Judy were waiting for her.

"Hi again, Kiyami. I didn't expect to see you at the table today." Vanessa said.

"Hi Vanessa." Kiyami replied.

Vanessa and Judy chatted with Kiyami about their personal life. Kiyami contributed to the conversation too. She then shared her life on isolating herself. Kiyami first felt the warmth of having friends

They agreed to meet again tomorrow.

After school, Kiyami walked to the park. She took out her sketchbook and started drawing the birds perching on the Sakura trees. She poured all her feeling into this Sakura tree near the lake in the park. That tree, whom Kiyami called "親愛なる" was the only so-called friend in her life.

Will Kiyami continue to open up?
