The Orange Society
Part 2
Chapter 1 (Overhearing the Foul Conversation)
When Drila opened her eyes, she found out that she was sitting in an old, abandoned shipwreck. The inside was covered in green algae and Drila could see all sorts of different fish swimming in and out of the cracks in the wood. All of a sudden, she heard a loud pop and saw two people in front of her. One was a man and the other a woman. They turned their heads towards Drila’s direction, but they did not seem to see Drila. It was as though Drila was invisible. Drila stood up and walked towards them. She stood in between them and started waving her hand in front of the woman’s face. The two people did not see her again. Instead,
“What rubbish! Did you read the news? They said the old king kidnapped a human girl! And guess what? They put a spell on her to make sure she could breathe in water. What such spell exists? Only people born here can breathe in water. The talent runs through our veins! What is the Orange Society thinking?” The women snapped.
“Anything,” replied the man. “Absolutely anything. They are the leaders of the underwater world!”
The woman sighed and they disappeared with a bunch of bubbles covering them before they disappeared.
What? I am put under a spell? This is terrible! thought Drila. She sunk back into an old wooden box, and sigh.
Chapter 2 (The Exotic, Only One)
Soon, she found herself thinking repeatedly thinking about the conversation. Nevertheless, she found it useless to keep thinking about it. She then decided to go out and take a look at the underwater world. She stood up and started making her way out of the shipwreck when something strange started happening. Her legs were starting to turn into a mermaid tail!
Sparkles of golden light shone slowly over her legs, Drila felt her legs prickling and with a sudden loud noise that went “BOOM!,” which echoed around the shipwreck, her legs turned into a mermaid tail. It was a calm shade of green, with red rubies pasted on the seams. The pyjamas she wore also began to turn into something unusual. This time, sliver light blinded Drila’s eyes as it swept across her pyjamas. Drila let out a yelp of pain and opened her eyes.
She looked at her pyjamas but realised she was not wearing it. She was wearing a rainbow-coloured fabric, which covered everything except her belly button. On it hung many little diamonds that were connected to the fabric by a metal chain. The diamonds swished and swung every now and then when the water current swept past. A flash of light blinded her eyes, and in a second or so she saw brightly painted orange walls. A small bed lay under an indigo shining light lamp. A couch suddenly appeared where Drila was standing, and Drila jumped up and swam away as fast as she could, she was about to swim through the door when a sliding purple metal door slid past and blocked her way.
A few other things crashed into the ground. A table, a chair, cutlery, some cushions, many books, a feather pen, an ink bottle and a piece of parchment landed in the most suitable place. Drila looked up to see if the ceiling had holes but it did not.
A beam of light shown into her ‘house’ from the ocean. Drila wanted to escape again but to her dismay, her whole ‘house’s’ surroundings turned into brick walls. There were only two windows, one at each side. Drila her a tiny ‘Plop!’ sound and saw a piece of salmon on her plate. A voice miraculously started echoing around her house. The voice was very muffled, but she managed to catch a few words. House, yours, exotic, only one, need you, Orange Society, stay put, food, drop
Did this mean that the house is mine. I am the exotic, only one and they needed me to help out in the Orange Society. I need to stay put and food will drop from the ceiling for me to eat?, she thought.
Very soon, Drila was tired and found herself dozing off in bed a while later.
Say :"Im in here!" If you spot yourself in the picture.😉
